Mrs. Philip Bear died at her home a few miles north of town, Monday after an illness of several months duration. Mrs. Bear was well known throughout the surrounding county and esteemed by all. Her maiden name was Mehan and she was born in Ireland 57 years ago. She was married to Philip Bear in 1861 and nine children were born to them.
The funeral occurred Wednesday morning and the remains interred in the Catholic cemetery.
The children surviving her are: Mrs. Steffen of this city, Mrs. Schmidet of Latimer, Frank of Salem, Kansas, Albert, Joe and Mrs. W. Johnston of Faulkner and Charlie, Fred, and Clara at home.
