Jeannette, as she was called, was the daughter of Bertram P. Hughes, a market gardener and house carpenter from Wethersfield, Hartford Co., Connecticut, and Annie Peck Hughes.

First she was married to a Mr. Barrett.

Then she became the second wife of Howard Newton Moulton, a World War I veteran and wire worker. They had four children together: Raymond Nelson in 1929, Howard Wesley in 1930, Robert Everett in 1931 and Jeanette Auburn in 1937.

The couple lived in Hartford, then Rocky Hill, Hartford Co., Connecticut.

She had 7 grandchildren and 8 known great-grandchildren as of mid-2014.
