She was born Feb. 3, 1913, at Tobias to Ernst and Alwine (Schweer) Bartels. She graduated from Zion Lutheran School in Tobias.
She was married to Werner Reetz on Oct. 28, 1934, at Zion Lutheran Church, Tobias, and they farmed near Staplehurst.
Survivors include her sons, Elroy (Susan) Reetz, Wayne (Mary) Reetz, both of Staplehurst; daughters, Janice (Glenn) White of Surprise, Darlene (Jim) Nordquist of The Dalles, Ore.; brothers, Martin (Lorna) Bartels, Bernard (Delores) Bartels, both of Tobias; sister, Berniece (Glen) Pfingsten of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Nadean Bartels of Tobias; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Werner; brother, Erwin Bartels; great-granddaughter, Danielle White.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner with the Rev. Arnold Jurchen. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Seward. Visitation will be Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Volzke Mortuary. The family will meet relatives and friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will also be visitation one hour before services at the church. Volzke Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
