SOUTHMONT - Loftin Wilson McLamb Sr., 76, formerly of High Point, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at High Point Regional Hospital, after being in declining health for several years.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Springfield Friends Meeting by the Rev. Terry Venable and the Rev. Wallace Sills. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

Mr. McLamb was born in Sampson County, on Aug. 13, 1920, a son to Bennie Walton and Naomi Wilson McLamb. He was owner of L.W. McLamb Realty, a member of Springfield Friends Meeting, a former member of Dora E. Richardson Sunday School Class, served on the Finance Committee, and also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On Sept. 23, 1947, he married Margie Martin, who survives of the home.

Surviving also are two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Candy) Long of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Billy (Tanya) Bazemore of 615 Quaker Lane, High Point; one son, Loftin W. (Skip) McLamb Jr. of Chesapeake, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Crumpler and Mrs. Naomi Lovelace, both of High Point, and Mrs. Sherrill (Kitsie) Auman of Raleigh; one brother, W.M. McLamb of Greensboro; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Avenue.
