MYERS -- Lillian Cox Myers, 80, widow of Chaplin (Col. USAF) Thomas E. "Gene" Myers, died Saturday, August 30, 1997, in a Florence nursing center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 2, 1997, in the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial followed at the Old Johnsonville Cemetery directed by Morris Funeral Home. She was born in Hemingway, a daughter of the late James Walton Cox and Amanda Josephine Huggins Cox. She was a retired teacher, author, founder of Lillian Myers Teaching Ministries. She was a member of Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Women's Auxiliary of the church, Emmanuel College and Piedmont College Alumni Associations and Emmanuel College Outstanding Alumna 1981. She was a graduate of Johnsonville High School (valedictorian), Emmanuel Junior College, Piedmont College (B.A.) and University of Hawaii. Survivors are: two sons, Lt. Col. Joeseph E. Myers of Martinsburg, W. Va.; and Barry Myers of Hemingway. Teacher and Author
