A.J. passed away peacefully at the age of 87.
She was a longtime Auburn resident at Auburn Ravine Terrace where she got the best of care.
Born in Helena, Mont., on February 1, 1924.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Roland. She is survived by her niece, Nancy Mara and husband Gene, of West Sacramento. She was cherished and loved dearly by many friends.
She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in November 1944, stationed in San Francisco. Her tour was over in April of 1946. She then moved to Sacramento. She worked at McClellan Air Force for 34 years in personnel and administration.
She has been a resident of the Auburn area for 37 years.
After retiring from McClellan Air Force Base in 1980 she remained an active dedicated volunteer with Auburn Faith Hospital Guild. She served as Guild President, regional advisor for The Association of Hospitals and Health Systems. Also served as Secretary of Auburn Community Blood Reserve. She was recognized for volunteer efforts by being nominated for Placer County Senior of the Year.
She was an avid sports fan- loved to play piano, especially honky tonk.
At her request there will be no services held. Memorial donations may be sent to Auburn Ravine Terrace, skilled nursing or Bristal Hospice.
