Oakland Rites For Dr. Claude Basford
"Funeral rites were held in Oakland Saturday for Dr. Claude Basford who died Thursday in an Oakland hospital following a long period of illness. A dentist, Dr. Basford practiced his profession successively in Cloverdale, Geyserville, Healdsburg, Santa Rosa and Lakeport. He was in Cloverdale for several years but for the past few years has been living in Oakland. Dr. Basford was born in Missouri 72 years ago and as an infant was brought west by his mother, with his sister. Both are deceased. The family settled in Alexander Valley. His mother was the late Mrs. Sarah Ferguson. C. M. Ferguson of Geyserville is a step brother of Dr. Basford. The survivors are a widow, Eleanor; two daughters, Mrs. Claire Gallery and Mrs. Geraldine Raymond, and a son, Jack Basford, all of Oakland."
