Maude Russell, 89, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, June 26, 2004, in Hayti.
Born Nov. 5, 1914, in Olive Hill, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Riley and Martha Kilburn Wade. She was also preceded in death by: one son, Mack Russell, on Nov. 22, 1996; one daughter, Grace Smith, on April 19, 1996; one sister, Lennie Franks; and two brothers, Mack Wade and Montie Wade.
Maude was united in marriage to Jack Russell on May 1, 1932, in Cerra Gordo, Tenn. He preceded her in death in 1970.
She was a cook at North Pemiscot School for several years and was of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Russell leaves one son, Robert Russell, of Hayti; Two sisters: Tiny Beckham, of Savannah, Tenn., and Clara Beckham, of Olive Hill; Nine grandchildren; and Thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Russell were Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Kenny Durham officiating.
Burial was at the Portageville Cemetery in Portageville, Mo., with John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti in charge.
Pallbearers were Adam Alexander, Andrew Alexander, Larry Joe Beckham, Eric Rainey, Robert Russell, Jr. and Jason Thompson.
