MARILYN BRASS On August 6, 2011, Marilyn Brass was called by the Lord to Eternity, while at her home in San Jacinto, CA. She was 81.

Marilyn loved music and enjoyed participating in the choir at East Whittier Methodist Church before moving to San Jacinto. At that time she bought a player piano (from Vita Magapinto LAFD) and would invite those who came by the house to join her in a song. She could also be seen on the dance floor at any social occasion. Marilyn was a tireless volunteer, helping in the library at Community Christian Church, collecting for neighborhood canned food drives and items for "Backpack Ministries" as well as participating in the Relay For Life by the American Cancer Society.

Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband of 29 years, Ken Brass. During their time together the two of them shared a love of snow skiing, sailing and golf, as well as socializing with the many friends they had made over the years. One of their favorite ways to spend the summer was to pack up their van and head out on to the highway going from state-to-state to visit family and long-time friends. Often they would be gone several months as they knew someone in each of the fifty states and Canada. While at home on the golf course at Soboba Springs County Club Marilyn was a member of the Soboba Ladies Club, participating in many events.

She is survived by daughters, Sherry (Mike) Missig, Vicki Thompson, Kathy (Cliff) Heaps; step-daughter, Cheryl (Steven) Okamoto; step-son, Randy (Lori) Brass; grandchildren, Branden and Meggan Heaps, Geoffrey, Michelle, Phillip and Brandon Okamoto; nephew, Ty Wittersheim (Enola). In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Marilyn's memory to your favorite Hospice or charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held at Hemet Valley Mortuary Chapel, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 7pm-8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Community Christian Church, 41762 Stetson Avenue, Hemet, CA 92544 with reception following. A private family interment will be held Friday at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Entrusted To The Care: Matthew McWane, Director
