Dannie Melven Tharp, 48, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a native of Hardin County and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran and an employee of Uarco Company in Radcliff for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Walter Tharp and Edith Mildred Nall Tharp. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hazelwood Tharp; two daughters, Deon Tharp and Melissa Friel, both of Elizabethtown; a brother, Bill Tharp of Rineyville; and two sisters, Bettie Ann Wilson of Mapleton Depot, Pa., and Linda Boswell of Rineyville. The funeral is 1 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Ferriell Gardner and the Rev. Garland Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. today.
