Thaxton of Cross Lanes; sons, Palmer Jr. of Garretts Bend, Billy and Bobby, both of Cross Lanes; stepdaughter, Corrine Shauver of Fairmont; stepson, Carl Chandler of Fairmont; sister, Ona Ival McClure of Barboursville; 14 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson.
