GARRETTS BEND -- Palmer Mason 'Pal' Alford, 76, of Garretts Bend, Lincoln County, died April 19, 1991, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after short illness. He was a retired construction worker and a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. Surviving: daughters, Phyllis Adams of Rock Hill, S.C., Patricia Williams, Sandra K. Thaxton of Cross Lanes; sons, Palmer Jr. of Garretts Bend, Billy and Bobby, both of Cross Lanes; stepdaughter, Corrine Shauver of Fairmont; stepson, Carl Chandler of Fairmont; sister, Ona Ival McClure of Barboursville; 14 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home
