William S. Long Dies at Nursing Home
William Silas Long, 88, of Burnettsville, father of Mrs. Lydia McDonald of Monon, died Saturday at the Lake Manor Nursing Home where he had been staying for the past eight months.
Mr. Long was born near Medaryville March 5, 1878, and married to Catherine Anna Kaufman in 1901. She died in 1963. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving with the daughter of Monon are three sons: Francis Earl of Hammond, Clifford Edwin of Monticello and Lester Kenneth of Logansport; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A son Everett died in 1939.
Services were held Monday in the Bell Center Church and burial was in the Medaryville Cemetery.∼Son of Valentine Long, husband of Catherine, father of Everett Gayle Long.
