OBITUARY
Albert Schlueter was born June
12, 1860, at Wausa, Wis. In early
youth he came to Seward county,
Nebraska, with his parents, where
he grew to manhood on the home
farm five miles southwest of Sew-
ard. After being instructed in the
chief parts of the Christian reli-
gion he was received into com-
municant membership by Imman-
uel Lutheran church at Middle
creek, east of Seward. i
In 1889, February 28, he enter-
ed matrimony with Miss Bertha‘
Petrie. To this union were born
four sons and five daughters.
In 1898 he gave up farming and
moved to Seward where he has;
made his home until his death. l
The deceased was a member of,
St. John’s church over forty years‘
and helped to build and maintain!
its church and school buildings!
All his children attended the Chris- ‘
tian day school and were brought‘
up in the nurture and admonition
of the Lord.
The deceased had not been quite
well for some time. A week before
his death he suffered a severe hem-
orrhage causing great weakness.
Blood transfusion and nursing gave
him only temporary relief. Sun-
day morning early, October 9,
1932, he passed away trusting in
his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
whom he had confessed to be his|
light and his salvation. (Ps. 27, 1.)
His age was 72.years, 3 months
and 27 days. He leaves his widow
and 9 children: Carl H. Schlueter,
Seward; George H. W. Schlueter,
Hazard; Edward J. H. Schlueter,
York; Arthur J. A. Schlueter,
Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Clara
Berry, Portland, Ore.; Miss Emma
Schlueter, Seward; Mrs. Lillian
Nickles, Oakland, Calif.; Miss
Edna Schlueter, Portland, Ore.;
Mrs. Florence Pleines, Seward; be-
side: one brother, Herman W.
Schlueter; fifteen grandchildren,
and many other relatives.
Interment was made after a
short service at the home October
12. at: 2 p.m. from St. John’s Ev-
angelical Lutheran church, in
Greenwood cemetery, Seward.
