Catherine L. Artis, 91, Columbus, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 28, 2011, at 2:45 p.m.

Catherine retired from Columbus Regional Hospital where she was an L.P.N. and formerly worked at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was of the Apostolic faith and enjoyed reading the Bible, spending time with family and playing bingo.

The funeral was conducted Aug. 1 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home in Columbus with the Rev. Scott Seniour officiating. Visitation was July 31 and before the service at the funeral home. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Brown County.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

She was born in Bartholomew County, June 15, 1920, the daughter of Ray and Frieda Bullard Donica.

Survivors include her children, Forrest (Mary) Wade of Ohio, David (Irene) Wade of Mitchell, Jerry (Jeanie) Wade of Brown County, Rebecca Calhoun of Columbus, Richard (Carol) Wade of Scipio, Janet (Steven) Troutman of Florida and Stephen (Regina) Allen of Borden; a dear friend and caregiver, Penny Wade of Columbus; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four husbands and three brothers.
