Isaac was a loyalist. He was a hatter who escaped from Bedford, Westchester Co., New York in April of 1777; was wounded and kept in irons nearly a year in Bedford and Poughkeepsie Gaols. He was then a prisoner at large for three years and escaped within British lines in 1780 and served as a volunteer in Capt. Frederick Williams' Refugee Co. Memorial 17 Mar 1786 Digby. Claim: House and farm of 40 acres; new house, larger hatter's shop and 10 acres in Bedford Town. (America Loyalist Claims-A013/16/52-53) Isaac and his family fled to Nova Scotia after the American Revolution.
