Herby Louis Bart went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2002 at the age of 51. Herby served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict in the 101st Airborne. He was employed with Southern Pacific Rail Road and Union Pacific Rail Road in the Mechanical Department and advanced to Director of Hazardous Materials; he was employed over 27 years.
Herby taught classes at A & M University's annual fire school, various police and fire departments. Herby entered into a partnership with the Baker family that formed Pat Baker Environmental Services which immediately made an impact in the industry. He loved his family and his work and was determined to see both succeed. He enjoyed trips to the beach with his daughters and grandbaby, attending ball games, fishing, golfing, and quality time with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Lydia Joyce Crowe Bart; mother, Vertie Wade and husband, Gene; grandmother, Lizzie Williams; daughters, Ashley Lydia Bart and Jennifer Lauren Bart; sons, Herby Louis Bart III and John Christopher Bloxham II and wife, Kelli Aleen; sisters, Carol Pavliska and husband, Mike, and Dr. Brenda Bart Knauer and husband, Dr. Steve Knauer; granddaughter, McKay Alexandria Bloxham; and various extended family members which he loved a lot.
Services: Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
