SAMUEL (SAM) ADRIAN CAMBRON, 54, of Loretto, died at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 21, at Flaget Memorial in Bardstown. He was stricken with a heart attack at Barton Brands Ltd., where he was employed. Born in St. Francis, he was the son of the late Francis Adrian and Mary Elizabeth Rafferty Cambron. Survivors include: his wife, Bernice Geneva Detherage Cambron; three sons, David, Frankie and Keith Cambron, all of Loretto; three daughters, Mrs. Smitty (Phyllis Ann) Smith and Mrs. James (Cathy Lynn) Hayden, both of Loretto; and Mrs. Tommy (Rita Faye) Medley of Wahaia, Hawaii; five sisters, Mrs. Phillip (Estelle) Ballard of Holy Cross; Mrs. Cecil (Darnell) Napper of Fairdale; Mrs. Gladys Smith of New Hope; Mrs. Jeanette Miles and Miss Helen Cambron, both of St. Francis; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Oct. 24, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. David W. Denneler officiated. Active pallbearers were Spencer and Donnie Gootee, Mervin and Gerald Smith, Marvin Detherage and Steve Ballard. Honorary pallbearers were Henry and Freddie Spalding, George Detherage, Charles Mattingly, Bill Blair, Donald Smith, Marvin Gardner and John Thomas. A prayer service was held at 4 p.m. Oct. 23 at Mattingly Funeral Home, who was in charge of arrangements.

CAMBRON, BARTON EMPLOYEE, DIES AT 54 - A Loretto resident, Samuel Adrian (Sam) Cambron, age 54, was pronounced dead on arrival at Flaget Memorial Hospital at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, of an apparent heart attack.
