Perry Hainey, son of Jackson W. and Nancy J. Russell Hainey and husband of Helen M. Whiston Hainey passed away Thursday, the 26th of July. He had been with the care of a sister, Mrs. R.J. (Emily) Morton for the past two months.

Oliver Perry Hainey was born in Pulaski Co., Kentucky on August 2, 1856 and came to Holton, Kansas in the fall of 1871. The following year the family came to settle in Clay County near the town of Green.

On the 9th of July in 1872 he and Helen M. Whiston were married and to this union, two sons were born. The Hainey family were long time residents and well respected members of the community.

Mr. Hainey was proceeded in death by his wife Helen M. Hainey seven years ago. He is survived by his two sons, Lee and Ernest and three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were held at Green, July 28 at 2 PM from the Methodist Church. Rev. George M. Hughes, with assistance from the minister of the church at Green, officiated.
Burial was in Fancy Creek Cemetery near Green, Kansas.
