Fortuna J. Landry
Fortuna J. Landry, 71, of 25 Maple Street died Thursday night at his home after a long illness. He was born in Canada but had lived in this country most of his life, the past 35 years here in Webster. He was a member of the Artisans and had been employed as a loom fixer at the Anglo Fabic Co. for the past two years.
He leaves his wife, Aurelie Brisbois Landry, two brothers, Alphonse and Omer both of Webster and seven sisters, Mrs. Alexandrine Ledoux of Dudley, Mrs. Regina LaFontaine of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Naomi Pepin, Mrs. Louise Lapierre, Mrs. Emma Dumouchel, Mrs. Evelina Lapierre and Mrs. Yvonne Mason, all of Webster.
Funeral services were held Monday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass of requiem in Sacred Heart Church at 10:30. Rev. Richard Collette was the celebrant assisted by Rev. Edward Moreau, A.A., deacon, and Rev. Silvio Brodeur. Bearers were Alphonse Landry, Leo Brisbois, Clarence Lapierre, Nobel Mason, and Nobel Mason, Jr. Prayers at the grave were led by Rev. Silvo Brodeur. Burial was in the parish cemetery in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director.
