ERVINE MORRIS, NEW HOPE, SUCCUMBS AFTER STROKE - A paralytic stroke suffered nearly three weeks ago, proved fatal to Ervine Morris, 63, New Hope, father of Walter, Morris, Dant, and Mrs. Howard Thompson, St. Mary. He died Saturday night at his home where he had returned a few days before from Mary Immaculate Hospital. A native of Nelson County, Mr. Morris was born October 1, 1890, a son of the late John Francis and Cecilia Ann Masterson Morris. He had long engaged in farming and was well known in the New Hope vicinity. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosetta Watson Morris, the son and daughter in this county, and nine other children. They are Frank, Earl, Leroy and Robert Morris, all of Louisville; William Morris, Watsonville, Calif.; Dannie Morris, New Hope; Sister Rose Nicholas, St. Catherine Convent; and Misses Cecilia and Shirley Morris, at home. Two brothers, Estill Morris, China Lake, Calif.; and Joe Frank Morris, Rock Falls, IL.; and one sister, Mrs. Aloysius McCauley, Raywick; also survive, and 25 grandchildren. The body was brought to Bosley Funeral Home and on Sunday was returned to the residence. Solemn Requiem Mass was intoned at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent dePaul Church, New Hope, by the Rev. John Bancroft, the Rev. Bernard Hartlage and the Rev. Frank Jaglowicz. Burial was in the church cemetery.
