Alfarata R. (Kenyon) Dell

Alfarata R. (Kenyon) Dell, 99, of Woodlawn Retirement
Center, Orbisonia, formerly of Huntingdon, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 1995,
at the center, where she had resided since June 1995.
Born March 14, 1896, in
Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late J. Oliver and Martha (Bard) Kenyon.
She was married to Archie W. Dell on June 26, 1922, at First United Methodist
Church in Huntingdon. Mr. Dell died Jan. 19, 1958.
Surviving are a son,
Charles W. Dell, of Huntingdon, and one granddaughter.
Also surviving are two
sisters, Mrs. Harry (Martha) Foesig of North Wales (Pa.) and Mrs. Gilbert
(Alice) Hicks, in Ohio.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Cecil
Kenyon and Luther Kenyon, and two sisters, Edna Hirst and Helen Kenyon.
Mrs.
Dell was a member of First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, where she was a
member of the Dorcas Circle and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of
the Huntingdon Chapter #159, Order of Eastern Star, and Donation Grange #300,
and had been active with the Standing Stone Senior Citizens while a resident of
Huntingdon.
A graduate of Huntingdon High School, Class of 1915, Mrs. Dell
was a resident of Huntingdon throughout her life, until moving to the retirement
center in June.
She was primarily a homemaker, who loved doing needlework and
crafts.
Funeral services were held this morning (Monday), at the John B.
Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Richard N. Dunlap officiating.
Interment was made in the IOOF Cemetery, Mapleton.
The family requested that
flowers be omitted. Instead, memorial contributions, in remembrance of Alfarata
R. Dell, may be given to the Huntingdon Meals on Wheels, c/o Treasurer, 1423
Moore St., Huntingdon, Pa. 16652.
