"Canisteo - The death of Guy L. McMindes, 75, of 8 1/2 Taylor St., at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night (Jan. 16, 1965) ...
The deceased was a native of Greenwood and had lived in Canisteo for 47 years. He had been a machinist for Stern & Stern Textiles in Canisteo for 35 years, retiring eight years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fern McMindes; two daughter, Mrs Eugene Wing of Hornell and Mrs. Lowell Nolan Jr. of Greenwood; seven sons, Ephraim, Elwyn, Glee, Carl and Paul, all of Canisteo, Levi of Pinedale, Calif., and Almond of Corning; four step-daughters, Mrs Theodore Burchard, Mrs. Paul Willis and Mrs. Ronald O'Dell, all of Canisteo, and Mrs. Walter Vosburg of Hornell; two step-sons, Bernard and Leo Drake, both of Canisteo; two sisters, Mrs Zoe O'Dell of Canisteo and Josie Osmin of Rexville; 64 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Crandall & Crandall Funeral Home in Canisteo. A funeral service will be held there at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. John C. Cook officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Greenwood, N.Y."
