Mrs. Lydia S. Hughes was born in Whiting Iowa and passed away in Omaha Nebraska, where she had been living with her daughter.
On October 29, 1889, she was married to John W. Hughes. They had ten children, five daughters: Garnett, Jenny, Rose, Hazel and Josephine, and five sons: Elias, Glenn, Calvin, Johnny and Milton.
Lydia was a member of the Methodist church. She was fond of flowers and music. She was a kind and loving mother and found her greatest joy in serving her family.
