Ed was born in Somerton, AZ in 1932 and moved to Riverside in 1937. He performed as the principal clarinet for many local symphony orchestras. Ed is perhaps best well known as the conductor of the Riverside Concert Band from 1984 to 2004. Edward was a talented musician, dedicated friend and brother, loving husband and proud father. He shared his love of music as a music educator in the Alvord school district. Ed was an avid bowler and enjoyed trout fishing in the Sierras. He had a dry sense of humor and a quiet charm that will be missed by all who knew him.
Ed is survived by his wife, Merri L. Casem, their children Kellen and Corwynn, his siblings, Connie Tarango, Leo Casem and Tino Casem his daughters, Marjoree Taylor and Patricia McClary, son, Edward Casem II and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to share their memories of this special man on August 12th starting at 9am at Preston and Simons Mortuary, 3358 Mission Inn Ave. Committal service will be held at 12:15pm at the Riverside National Cemetery.
