FREEPORT — Carolyn Elizabeth Hartill, 70, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 resident of Casco Road in Brunswick went peacefully in her sleep to be with the Lord with her husband at her side. She was born November 30, 1940 in Bowdoinham, ME the youngest of thirteen children born to Lithgow and Elizabeth (Alexander) Allen. She attended schools in Bowdoinham.
Mrs. Hartill was employed for a brief time at Maine Shoe Company before starting her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her family as a simple mother and homemaker that enjoyed life and was a friend to all. She loved feeding the many birds that would visit her feeders and also enjoyed picking seafood, whether it be lobsters, crabs or clams. Carolyn loved to go on fishing trips with her family.
She was predeceased by a son David J. Hartill who died in 1973 and four siblings, Carroll Allen, Raymond Allen, Helen Hanson and Herbert Allen.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Maine Street Baptist Church, 326 Maine Street, Brunswick. Interment will follow in Bay View Cemetery, Bowdoinham.
