Mildred June Yingling
Aug. 7, 1927 — Aug. 2, 2011

On Tuesday, Mildred June Yingling, beloved wife, mother and Nana, passed away peacefully after a long and full life. Mildred was born in Tulsa, Okla., Aug. 7, 1927. She was the second of five children born to Henry and Elsie Curtis.

Mildred's family relocated from Oklahoma to California when she was a young girl. As a teen, she met Cleatus, a friend of her older brother, and fell in love. On April 10, 1943, Mildred and Cleatus were married and began their life together. They lived in California for nearly 50 years and were blessed with three precious sons, Leonard, Tim and Ron. Mildred was also a loving mother to her two daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Peggy. As her family grew, Mildred was affectionately called "Nana" by her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She held a special place in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Mildred worked for Mattel for 20 years before retiring and moving to Lake Havasu with her husband, Cleatus, in 1989. Mildred loved her family and was a devout Christian woman. In her later years, she spent much of her time reading and sewing. Mildred worked with her church, making stuffed bears for pediatric patients at the local hospital. Spending time with family and friends brought her the greatest joy. Nothing was more precious to her than her loved ones.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus; son, Tim; daughter-in-law, Kathleen; and grandson, Robert.

Viewing will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. today. Services to immediately follow at Lietz-Fraze, by elder Bill Reed of the Oro Grande Church of Christ.
