Genevieve enlisted in the Navy on March 25, 1943 in Illinois, serving in the WAVES as a Pharmacist's Mate, First Class until her Honorable Discharge on March 5, 1946. She enrolled in college at her discharge and Graduated form Redlands College in California with a B.A. in Political Science. From 1947 to 1948 she pursued a Master's Degree in Political Science, completing the coursework but never filing a thesis.
By 1954 Genevieve was living in Detroit, Michigan, where she met Maxwill "Max" Muth. They were married on July 3, 1954 in Sunbury, Ohio. She and Max returned to Detroit, eventually moving to the suburb of Livonia. While a housewife, Genevieve was involved in her community, working for voter registration drives. She also greatly enjoyed genealogical research, creating documents and collecting family heirlooms over the course of her life.
Genevieve and Max had two children, a son and a daughter. Genevieve passed away of cancer on February 13, 1984 and was buried with her parents in Sunbury, Ohio.
