JOHNSTOWN, NC ~ Mrs. Iva Bee Holt Pack, age 87, of Johnstown, widow of the late William Junior Pack, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010, at her home with her family by her side.

Mrs. Pack was born in Patrick County, VA, on January 22, 1923, to the late Robert and Lottie Holt.

Iva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She loved working on the farm with the help of her eight children.

Mrs. Pack was a Christian woman and was a member of Brown Mountain Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pack is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Ruby (William) Beasley, Judy (Ted) Cox, Frances (Bobby) Leonard, and Shelby (Danny) Sawyers, all of Westfield; four sons and daughters-in-law: Roger (Wanda) Holt of Mount Airy, Bobby (Robin) Pack of Westfield, Ronnie Pack of Mount Airy, and Randy (Rita) Pack of Westfield; three step-daughters: Louise Needham of Pilot Mountain, Polly McNeill of Kernersville, and Lois Holt of Lawsonville; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Sam Holt of Westfield, Bill (Terry) Holt of Westfield; one sister, Martha Bowman of Westfield; one special niece, Mary Holt of Pilot Mountain; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Pack was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four infant children; one sister; one grandson; one brother; and one stepdaughter.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Brown Mountain Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie Carter officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 6, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and especially Tina Leonard who assisted the Pack family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brown Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Gail Durham, 265 Boyles Street, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041; or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 4101 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or to Brenner Children's Hospital, Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157 Attn: Suzanne Howell.
