Thomas was the oldest of eight children born to Brown Alexander and Ethel Alice (Alridge) Foil. He married Martha Legere and they were the parents of two sons: Thomas Alexander Jr. and David Wayne.

SALISBURY - Thomas Alexander Foyl Sr., 65, of 613 N. Fulton St. died Sunday at Rowan Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Haven Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park.
He was a native of Rowan Count and was retired from N. C. Finishing Co., in the customer relations department. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a former Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Salisbury Moose Lodge.
Survivors are wife, Martha Foyl of the home; sons, David Foyl of Grayson, Ga., and Thomas A. Foyl Jr. of Salisbury; father, Brown Foyl of Salisbury; brothers, Franklin Foyl of Boca Raton, Fla., Bobby Lee Foyl of Raleigh, Irving Foyl and Edward Foyl of Salisbury; sisters, Mrs. Nellie Loflin of Greensboro and Mrs. Alice Eage of Salisbury; six grandchildren.
The family will be at Lyerly funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
