IRA OTIS BASH

Ira Otis Bash, son of Martin George and Phidella Bash, was born April 25, 1874 at Wabash, Indiana and passed away November 12, 1951 at the age of 77 years, six months, and 18 days.

His childhood was spent at Crab Orchard, Nebraska where he attended country school. On October 18, 1899 he was united in marriage to Myrtle E. Walker. To this union, ten children were born.

In 1902 Mr. Bash was baptized and received into the Christian Church at Hooker, Nebraska where he was an active and loyal member. The family lived at Tecumseh, Nebraska before moving to Yuma, where he was a deacon and elder in the church.

In 1916 Mr. Bash brought his family to Yuma, where he continued to live until his death.

On Palm Sunday, 1949,, he was received into the membership of the Methodist Church of Yuma where he was a faithful and loyal church member.

He was preceded in death by two of his children, one in infancy and the oldest daughter, Mrs. Ruth Atkinson. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; sons, Ira of Otis, Edward of Gering,, Nebraska; and daughters, Edna Kuhrt of Spokane, Washington, Mary Kelso and Betheen Kelso of Denver; Elda Muldeer and Ellen Goeglein of Yuma; one sister, Grace Fuller of Burbank, California; brothers, Floyd Bash of Dallas, Texas; and Walter Bash of Denver,, 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, a large number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
