Lee E. Van Gieson, son of Virgil M. and Damaris V. (Dickinson) Van Gieson, was born April 13, 1932 in Belmont, Kansas. He passed away Wednesday evening, August 3, 2011 in the Kingman Hospital at the age of seventy nine.
After graduating from high school, Lee joined the Army Air Force during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge.
On April 12, 1952, Lee was united in marriage with Bonnie Rogers in the Union Sunday School at Adams, Kansas and this union was blessed with five children, Debra, Steve, Joan, Kelly and Chris.
The family made their home outside of Rago where Lee farmed the family land.
He was a member of the Harper Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge #206 A.F. & A.M. He presented the Masonic Rites to many families over the years.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents his sisters; Wynetta Smart, and Virgilene Campbell.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Bonnie Van Gieson; children: Debra Burns of Marion, Indiana; Steve Van Gieson and his wife Colleen of Norwich, Kansas; Joan Smith and her husband Jan of Norwich, Kansas; Kelly Van Gieson and his wife Teresa of Rago, Kansas; Chris Coon and her husband Jim of Kingman, Kansas; Sisters: Dortha Coykendall of Rago, Kansas; Margaret Schroeder of Arma, Kansas; Seventeen Grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
