Jack was the youngest child born to Isabelle Heaney and John (Jack) Stickney. He married in 1946 and had two daughters.
John graduated from the University of Oregon in Machanical Engineering. While in the Army, he was in the Ordinance Department (Germany and Phillipines). He was an Industrial Sales Engineer for Parker Appliance Company in South Bend, Indiana. In 1957 he was an Aircraft Sales Manager for Holly Carburetor Company. In 1961 he worked for the Pacific Airmotine Company in Burbank, CA as a sales manager. In later years, John worked for Lockheed Martin, also in California.
