Statesboro, Ga., May 28 - J. C. Emanuel, 68, died early yesterday morning at his home near Brooklet, Ga., after a long illness. He was well known throughout the Brooklet community having lived there over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Mincey Emanuel; four daughters, Mrs. Edell Howard, Brooklet, Mrs. Ruby Howard, Brooklet, Mrs. Rosa Lee Snellgrove, Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Bessie Mae Winters, Lake Waccamaw, N.C.; two sons, Johnie L Emanuel, Savannah, Jack J. Emanuel, Savannah; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; four sisters, Miss Gussie Emanuel, Savannah, Mrs. Julia Rebecca Mincey, Savannah, Mrs. Laura Lane, Savannah, Mrs. Mary Mincey, Savannah; two half-brothers, Joe Emanuel, J. J. Emanuel, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, 4 p.m. from Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Sanders officiating, assisted by Rev. E. A. Woods. Burial was in the church cemetery with Barnes Funeral Home in charge.
