Clifford "Boots" Bostrom, Ogema Township, Pine County, Minn., died on August 3, 2004, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn. He was 83 years old.
He was born in Ogema Township, Minn., on February 17, 1921, to Elder and Sarah Bostrom.
Cliff attended grade school in Ogema Township, Minn., and was a graduate of Webster High School. He served his country during WW II in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945. After the service Boots returned to Ogema Township, where he owned and operated Boot Tavern. He then moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where he worked as a system engineer for Airco for over 20 years. He then moved back to Ogema Township, where he enjoyed his retirement for over 30 years. Boots enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Genevieve; second wife, Margaret Jordan; and his lifelong companion, Florence Johnson; brothers Harold and Earl; sister Florence.
Boots is survived by his son, Daryl (Susanne) Bostrom, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; brother Gust Bostrom of Potlatch, Idaho; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held Aug. 9 at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, with Pastor Larry Day officiating the service. Military honors were provided by Otis Taylor American Legion Post #96 of Webster. Private family interment will be held at a later date, at Ogema Cemetery, Ogema Township, Pine County, Minn.
