Ethel was the daughter of Joseph Benjamin and Jennie (Misenheimer) Aldridge. She married Brown Alexander Foil and they were the parents of eight children: Thomas Alexander, Brown Edward 'Ed', Alice Janolia, Catherine Oneda, Bobby Lee, Nellie Bly, Franklin Delano, George Irving.
