Services for Margaret Bert Bounds, age 80, of Belton will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Home with Joe Baisden officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Bounds died Wednesday at a Belton nursing home.

She was born November 22, 1930 in the Phoenix Community in Bell County to Joel Ernest and Edgie Lee (Carpenter) Wilhite. She was a 1948 graduate of Belton High School. She married R. D. Bounds February 12, 1949 in Temple. She worked for Miss Birtchet Playhouse Daycare for a number of years. She was an Auxiliary member of VFW Post 4008 for over 40 years. She was an officer and member of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, Bell County Cowboys and Cowgirls Ring of Honor, Belton Riding and Roping Club, and a Volunteer for the Texas Western Swing Fiddling Showcase as well as a member of the Wilhite Girls Family Group. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. D. Bounds, sister, Kathleen Brown in 1993 and a son, Jody Bounds in 2010.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy D. Bounds and wife Pat of Belton, daughter, Cindy Gilleland and husband Duke of Belton, 2 sisters, Ernestine Humphrey and Billie Wilson of Belton, 6 grandchildren, Audra Bounds Boyd and husband Jake of Leander, Sargeant Thomas Bounds and wife Laarney of Japan, Garrick Pursley and wife Amber of Toledo, Ohio, Sloane Pursley Moyer and husband Damon of Belton, Sarah Gilleland of Portland, Oregon and Daniel Gilleland of Belton, 8 great grandchildren, Jaxon Boyd, Kimber Boyd, Andersyn Kollins Boyd, Avery Pursley, Hannah Pursley, Seth Riley Moyer, Margaret Anne (Maggie) Gilleland and Marina Benjamin.
