Mrs. Martha Helminiak, 82, formerly of 1927 Oak St., died Sunday morning at the Portage County Home, where she had been a resident since September 1977.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Mullen will officiate, and burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Shuda Funeral Chapel. There will be a general rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born Feb. 4, 1900, in the town of Stockton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kedrowski. She attended Fancher schools. She was married to Anton Wojtalewicz at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Fancher, in 1918.
She later married Peter Helminiak in August 1953, in Stevens Point. He died in 1961.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Roman (Caroline) Firkus, 3822 Bluebird Dr., and Mrs. Stanley (Angeline) Laczkowski and Mrs. Casimir (Lorraine) Glinski, both of Chicago; two sons, Valarian and Gilbert Wojtalewicz, both of Chicago; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Zinda, River Pines Community Health Center
She was preceded in death by a son, seven brothers and a sister.
