She was born on July 14, 1923 in Stevens Point.
She was a longtime active member and volunteer at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
She also enjoyed gardening, dancing, baking, cooking, and decorating.
Genevieve is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Flor) Grubba, Brooklyn Park, MN, Jeffrey Grubba, Arlington Heights, IL, Dennis (Jackie) Grubba, Lake Nebagamon, WI; one daughter, Sandy (Brian) Sweeney, Superior; four grandchildren, Ryan Grubba, Wayzata, MN, Jennifer Grubba-Derham, Albertville, MN, Jessica Grubba Sweeney, Superior, WI, Randy Grubba, Minneapolis, MN; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Grubba, Jack Derham, Lane Grubba-Taylor and Anna Derham; one brother, David (Louise) Stroik, Stevens Point, WI; one niece, Denise Stroik-Ostrowski, Fruitport Michigan, and longtime special friend, James Powers, Superior, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Grubba, granddaughter, Christina Grubba, her parents, Clara Stroik and Joseph Bemowski, one sister, Annette Nolan and one brother, Joseph (Buddy) Bemowski.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Superior. Rev. Fr. Don Kania will be celebrant.
Burial will be at Stevens Point, Wisconsin at a later date.
