Helen Coley Kennon, 88, of Memphis, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away August 2, 2011 at home. She was born September 16, 1922 to the late Rucker Berry and Mildred Helen Minor Coley. She graduated from Humes High School in 1940. On October 12, 1941, she married her high school sweetheart and "the love of her life", Thomas Gaston Kennon, Jr. who preceded her in death on January 23, 2003. She was an avid Tiger fan who lived her entire life in Memphis. She retired from the University of Memphis - Office of Continuing Education in 1984. She was also a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. She is survived by her children, Nancy Kennon Cochran (James A.) of Shawnee, KS, Lynda Kennon Bedeian (Arthur) of Baton Rouge, LA, Thomas Gaston Kennon, III (Jennifer) of Fort Smith, AR, Leigh Kennon Lairmore (Bill) of Memphis, TN, Stephen Gary Kennon (Susan) of Madison, IN; a sister, June Coley Mosby of Marietta, GA; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one expected great-grandchild. The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Family Funeral Care in Memphis. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2011 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
