Trygve Birkeland
Fort Benton--Trygve Birkeland, 83, died at his Fort Benton home Friday. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Benton Funeral Home with Rev. John Soderberg officiating, burial in Riverside Cemetery with Masonic rites.
Born in Norway, he came to North Dakota with his parents until moving to Montana in 1927 to farm near Fort Benton. He retired in 1966. He married Laura Bratvold April 28, 1952, at Winnipeg.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Karen, Great Falls; stepdaughters, Mrs. Gary Ferree, Great Falls; Mrs. George Marcenkowski, East Helena; Mrs. Ione Bratvold, Thief River Falls, Minn.; brothers, Ingolf, Fort Benton; Jergen, Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Emma Loe, Pekin, N. D.; and Manda Bonner, Sacramento, Calif.
