He was a member of Tabernacle A.M.E. Church for more than 50 years and a former church clerk. He was a retired farmer. // Survivors include four daughter, Mrs. Jessie Mae WILLIAMS, Miss Georgia HARDAWAY, both of Columbus, Mrs. Rebecca HARDAWAY, Milwaukee, Wisc., Mrs. Alice LIGHTFOOT, Montgomery, Ala.; four sons, Alvin HARDAWAY and Henry HARDAWAY, both of Columbus, Eddie HARDAWAY, Denver, Colo., Jacob HARDAWAY, Arlington, Va.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren."
