Arthur Welling Freeman, 82, highly respected and well known farmer living northwest of Windfall, died Tuesday morning at 10:25 a.m. of complications arising from a stroke which he suffered three weeks ago. for 40 years, Mr. Freeman had been a resident of the Windfall community. He was a son of Benjamin and Sarah (Frost) Freeman, born in Orleans, Indiana, on May 25, 1857. He was the last of a large family. On July 17, 1889, he was united in marriage to Druzilla Gifford, of Windfall. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1939. They were the parents of four children, all of whom survive. They are George Freeman of Wabash, Mrs. Minnie Ramp of Greentown, Mrs. Atha Ford, of Washington, D.C., and Frank Freeman, of Kokomo. Six grandchildren also survive. The body was removed to the Edwards funeral home to remain there until the hour of services. The Rev. Polly Couch Bowman, of Hemlock, will officiate at the last rites, which will be held at the funeral home at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. Burial will follow in Brookside cemetery.
