She married Alvin A. Engel on Jan. 27, 1946, in Hays. He preceded her in death Dec. 25, 2002.
She was a liquor store owner/operator and a beautician. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Veda Hayes, Leoma, Tenn., and Norah Toelkes, Plainville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Rowland and George Glass Jr.; and two sisters, Dorothy Fowler and Wilma Hamel.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Ellis. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine. A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital in care of the funeral home.
