Abilene, Taylor Co., TX—Tuesday, 23 June 1998

Camille Grigsby Alford, of Abilene, died Monday [June 22] at a Baird nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Loraine Cemetery [Mitchell Co.], directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Alford was born in Ruston [Lincoln Parish], La., where she graduated from high school before attending Louisiana Tech University. She worked for the U.S. government in Little Rock, Ark., and lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, Calif., before moving to Abilene in 1971. She worked for the Hardin-Simmons University Registrar's Office, Taylor County Clerk's office and for several years at the federal courthouse. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she volunteered at the Family Life Center for several years. She was a former member of Key City Chapter of American Business Women's Association and Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a member of Abilene Garden Club. She married Robert P. Alford in Little Rock; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews....
