Funeral services will be held at First Methodist church here Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in I.O.O.F cemetery.
Following their marriage in 1904 Mr and Mrs Felter lived on a farm near Washta. Later they bought a farm near Cherokee. For eight years prior to moving to a farm north of Indianola, he had served as county agent af Cherokee county.
In 1926 he purchased 82 acres 3 miles north of Indianola and set out a large commercial orchard which he operated until 1951. Mr and Mrs Felter moved to Indianola in October, 1957.
In Legislature
He was elected president of the Warren County Farm Bureau in 1930, but resigned to become a candidate for state representative. He was elected in 1930, 1932, and 1934, serving in the sessions of 1931, 1933, 1935 and the extra session of 1936.
For 50 years he was connected with the Iowa State Fair either as a exhibitor, judge or superintendent of the agriculture building.
In 1915 he was in charge of the famous "Horn of Plenty" feature in the Iowa agriculture exhibit at the Pan American Exposition at San Francisco, Calif.
He was a school director for 27 consecutive years.
Mr Felter has been president of the Warren County Agriculture Association, Iowa Horticulture Association, Iowa Fruit Growers Association, Iowa Fair Managers Association, Iowa Bee Keepers Association and the Indianola Garden Club.
In 1953 he was presented the Iowa Horticulture Association's Golf Merit award.
Mr and Mrs Felter celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary June 8, 1954.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs Harold Hopkins of St. Cloud, Minn., and Mrs Marvin Cone of Moscow, Idaho; two sons, Victor jr. of Missoula, Mont., and Donald of Cainsville, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren.
