Frank Onel Lowery, 89 years, of Fort Madison, died at 5:35 pm Friday July 29, 2011 at the Kensington. He was born May 13, 1922 at Farmington, Iowa, a son of Frank and Buelah (Peckstein) Lowery. On December 1, 1945 he married Ila "Jackie" Jackson at Carthage, Illinois. He spent most of his life in Fort Madison. He was a 1940 graduate of Fort Madison High. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He worked his entire career at Sheaffer Pen Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Elks, and Claypoole Masonic Lodge #13, A.F & A.M.

He is survived by his wife, Ila "Jackie" Lowery, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Randall (wife Marilu) Lowery, of Mt. Prospect, Illinois; one brother, Douglas (wife Sally) Lowery, of South Carolina; two granddaughter: Erin (husband David) Haberkorn, of Chicago, Illinois and Kelly (husband Daniel) Lawlor, of Chicago, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Lowery and Bernard Lowery.

Burial will be at the Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Iowa. Full military rites conducted by the Fort Madison Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
