Sgt. U.S. Army, {US56585858}, Vietnam War-Sgt. Korando was killed in action by small arms fire on 5-10-1968 while serving in the Ding Tuong area with Co. B of the 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. Sgt. Korando started his tour in Vietnam on August 22, 1967.

He is the son of Mr. Oliver E. & Mrs. Catherine J. Korando of 601 North Street, Murphysboro, Illinois.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal.
