Nathan Miller "Nate" Horton, 78, of Mocksville, NC, died on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, SC (sic). Born: In Somerville, NJ on June 13, 1930, he was a son of the late Nathan Clarence and Marion Louise Miller Horton. Personal: His wife, Rose Hannah Potts Horton died on October 12, 1994. He lived most of his life in New Jersey, living in Stewartsville, NJ before moving to Mocksville about a year and a half ago. He was a retired self-employed truck driver and mechanic. Memberships: He was of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors: two sons, George Edward and his wife Kathleen Rose Horton of Lancaster, SC, Louis Miller Horton of Hatfield, PA; two daughters, Susan Marie and her husband Robert Fidler of New Vernon, NJ, Lisa Louise and her husband Ted Mickalowski of Mocksville, NC; a brother, Elias Edward and his wife Ethel Horton of Loveland CO; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son Walter William Horton and a great-grandson James A. Barber. Services: The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 11 a.m. in the Coughlin Funeral Home, 15 Academy St., Califon, NJ. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Tewksbury Township, NJ.
