Mrs. Emma M. Schnell, 82, of 1017 N. 21st St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, October 27, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ninth and Pine Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Schnell nee Emma Vogt, was born Aug. 2, 1900, in the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Carl and Catherine Schmidt Vogt. She was married to Ernst Schnell Dec. 22, 1923, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Schnell resided in the Newton area until 1932, when they moved to Manitowoc to reside.
Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1966. Mrs. Schnell had been employed at Manitowoc Health Care Center, retiring in 1965. She was a member of Manitowoc Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward E. and Mary Schnell of Manitowoc and LeRoy J. and Bernice Schnell of Newton; a brother, Ernest Vogt of Manitowoc; five grandchildren, Rodney, Jon, James, Ann and Joanne; a great grandson, Andrew and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Peffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Thursday afternoon until 11:30 a.m. Friday and the at the church from noon until the hour of service. The family request memorials to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
