REVOLUTIONARY HERO'S GRAVE FOUND AT LAST

Father of Oldest Real D.A.R. Buried in Little Fields Settlement Cemetery.

WATERTOWN May 24.—The grave of Isaac Hurd, father of Mrs. Susan Hurd Cook of Clayton, the oldest living real daughter of the Revolution, is not in the Arsenal street burying ground in this city as has been supposed all along.

Time after time diligent search has been unsuccessfully made to locate the grave of the soldier, that it might be marked in an appropriate manner. Authentic information now has been given Miss Harriet Fairbanks, regent of the local chapter of the D.A.R., which shows the grave of Mr. Hurd to be among those in the little cemetery at Fields Settlement.

Mrs. Cook did not attend the funeral of her father. It was her recollection that the grave was in Watertown but a niece
has been discovered who attended the funeral and the interment at the Settlement.

Steps will be taken to mark the grave, though on account of other graves of Revolutionary soldiers in the same cemetery, the placing of bronze markers will be deferred some time.
